Letting the fox guard the henhouse: the big money interests behind modern oncology
Learn how to find resources you can trust, and how to stand up for your rights as a patient.
A friend of mine was given a diagnosis of a somewhat rare cancer. It was a sarcoma (soft tissue) tumor, myxofibrosarcoma (MFS). It started out the size of a pencil eraser on the lower part of her leg. For the most part these types of tumors are not metastatic, and it is simply cut out. Fifty percent have recurrence within 5 years, and it is cut out again. It is uncommon to spread to other parts of the body unless it is left without any sort of intervention.
But still. The word cancer usually is accompanied by both shock and fear. And always a lot of questions.
“Am I going to die?”
“What should I do?”
“Is there a perfect treatment for this?”
When it comes to how we solve a problem, our personality plays a very important role. Are you the cool-headed coach in the fourth quarter, or do you let emotions run wild?
If you're not the cool-headed type, (and there’s no shame in that, it’s just important to be self-aware,) you need a caregiver or a coach who can research and guide you through this. As well-meaning as many physicians are, they often view things through a narrow lens. To be blunt, chemo, radiation, and surgery are their bread and butter, so it’s only logical that those are the first and sometimes only approaches they seem willing to take.
Now, having a cancer diagnosis is nothing to play around with. But I’ve said before in other posts... we have a disease maintenance system, not a health care system. Sadly, I do not think oncology is much different.
Did you know that an oncologist receives a 6% markup on certain chemotherapy drugs? According to Forbes, Oncologists get $600 for every $10,000 monthly chemo treatment they prescribe. Over the course of a year that is over $7,000 in his pocket for just one patient.
Also, many high priced chemo drugs are sold based on their life-extending benefits… but many of those drugs are shown to extend life for only a matter of months. In the meantime, the patient has to suffer the affects of a poison that hopefully kills the cancer before it kills them.
Put in such blunt terms, it makes us question why this is often the first treatment option available rather than the last resort. Unfortunately, many of the doctors are on the take. One study found that 85% of the experts who wrote the most widely-used cancer guidelines had received payments averaging more than $10,000 from pharmaceutical companies.
This article points out yet another issue— physicians caught doing something ethically questionable have been moving from medicine to work for the pharma industry. (Kudos to www.statnews.com for pointing out these issues.)
So is there a community who hasn’t been influenced by big Pharma? And if so, where is their voice? It is out there... but you have to search for it. For the last few years a certain portion of the medical community – those proclaiming that COVID vaccines did not work and that masks do not stop viral infection – has been censored/silenced. These medical experts have been cut out of what should have been front page news.
One such group is Americas Front Line Doctors www.aflds.com. They state that the “Censorship Industrial Complex is made up of four key pillars. These are Censorship, Propaganda, Forced Compliance, and Unpunished Defamation.”
50,000 concerned citizens met in Washington to protest COVID restrictions. But it was never carried on the news… therefore it never happened. The same is true of voices speaking out against the status quo of the medical complex.
So, what is a normal, everyday person to do to get information?
Be a person that is not afraid to research for yourself. Or find a friend who can. Being able to read a research paper is not rocket science, but it does take some time to get accustomed to know what is valuable and what is peripheral.
Learn to dig deeper that page one of a search engine. Oftentimes therapies and clinics that stand to make profit are the first thing pulled up as “information.” Google’s results are not unbiased. Their results have become become influenced by a particular agenda, especially when searching for items that do not fit the mainstream narrative.
Try searching for “Ivermectin for COVID” and you will get a full page of biased studies designed to point you away from that treatment. In contrast, you can go to https://www.aflds.org/medical/ivermectin and find that it does work. My family got our supply from TSC -Tractor Supply Company. Biased news outlets may raise their eyebrows at taking ‘horse de-wormer,’ but for less than $15 we can treat our whole whole family. (Or a 1,200 lb horse 😊.)
Get some information from those who are standing up against the establishment. Frontline doctors is a great place to start place to start. And they don’t stand alone, on their website they point to “a shocking and eye-opening interview with Tucker Carlson, [where] Mike Benz (Foundation for Freedom Online) analyzed the most important issue of our time: censorship.”
Dr. Joe Mercola is another doctor bold enough to speak truth. I would certainly recommend his daily 5-minute articles on a variety of health topics. (www.mercola.com.) He has great credentials. He was also considered one of the top physicians spreading “misinformation” (AKA information that is true, but goes against the government’s narrative) during COVID. To me, his willingness to take a stand against the grand government cover-up is a confirmation that he is worth listening to.
Don’t be afraid to stand up to your physician, especially when they recommend a treatment that doesn’t stack up to your research. In the case of my friend’s sarcoma, there were a number of studies that influenced their decision for treatment. The studies they researched showed that chemo does not work and that radiation was not shown to be definitely positive. Therefore, surgery was the route to take.
In the case of my friend, their oncologist said to do radiation. But after a month of radiation, they cut out the tumor. Now there are issues with the post-surgery skin grafts because of the radiation. Infection has set in, and is causing more problems.
Remember that there are appropriate alternatives. Most alternative or integrative cancer clinics offer a blend of natural and conventional therapies. The large problem for many is that clinics like these are often not covered by insurance.
You can let the medical establishment make all of your decisions. Most of America lives this way... relying on a care provider who is in with an insurance company, who in turn is in with big business, who is then in with big pharma, who is in with the government.
OR
You can do your own research and decide if you agree with the medical establishment, or will find a practitioner that you trust who is open to considering the common-sense facts that lead to uncommon cures.
Blessings,
